RAVE REVIEWS- NHPS hosted

Charlie Appelstein's - Train the Trainer program on May 11th and 12th of 2011.

NHPS members as well as DCYF and DJJS staff participated in this workshop. It was sold out with over 100 participants.

This training was made possible through a grant from the Endowment for Health. For training materials please visit our "Publications Page" under the "News" section.

Our next workshop will be on developing meaningful outcome measures in your organization in an effort to better support and reflect our work. More information on this and other trainings will be posted soon.

NHPS members have been working on a project that helps member agencies adapt business and practices to increase family engagement, use of evidence based practices, diversify their service array and establish performance outcome measures. On Thursday, June 23, 2011 NHPS features Howard Muscott, Ed.D. the Director of NH Center for Effective Behavioral Interventions and Supports. Dr. Muscott will present a workshop to NHPS members entitled Data Wise: Identifying Outcome Measures for Data Collection.

This project was made possible through a planning grant by the Endowment for Health in New Hampshire. The project included an analysis of the current practices, an assessment of potential service options and work with two pilot sites. NHPS hired two consultants, Greg Hessel and Floyd Alwon to work with members and provide a written report. NHPS released this report entitled, Re-Engineering Children’s Residential Treatment. This report includes Mr. Hessel and Dr. Alwon’s analysis as well as a facilitator’s guide to assist other agencies in making similar transformations.

NHPS hosted a two-day "Train the Trainer" session on using a strength-based approach with kids and families.

The workshop was conducted by Charlie Appelstein, MSW, of Appelstein Training Resources, LLS. The event was sold out with a crowd of over 100 participants. Charlie stressed the use of creative and meaningful interactions as the foundation of lasting change. For more information about Charlie and his trainings visit: http://www.charliea.com/

New Hampshire Partners in Service (NHPS) is proud to introduce this report as a result of a year-long process with member agencies. This project was funded in large part through a grant by the Endowment for Health. The work included planning and related technical assistance for development and piloting of a strategic planning framework to support transformation of agencies providing children’s residential treatment in New Hampshire.

Our work builds upon and compliments related initiatives that are on-going in New Hampshire by focusing specifically on strategy and business processes that existing residential service agencies must undergo to meet the challenges of systemic changes in the delivery and financing of services for high risk children, youth and families.
